“Summertime and the livin’ is easy”.
Philly slang-
Ciggy- -cigarette
Grinder- a toasted hoagie
Hoagie- a sandwich consisting of a long bread filled with lunchmeats, cheeses, and vegetables. What would be referred to as a "sub" in other parts of the country.
Samwich: A hoagie or a cheesesteak; or just some lunchmeat on a roll
Water Ice: Philadelphian terminology for Italian ice typically pronounced "wooder ice"
Wha": What, pronounced without the t.
"Whatta": What Are, "Whatta doing"
Wooder": Characteristic Philadelphian pronunciation of the word water
Whaddya? - What do you?
Plug - Fire Hydrant, specifically when used for first or third base in street ball or a boundryline. Limited neighborhood use, possibly south Philly.

Tar Beach: The roof of an apartment building when used in the summer for sunbathing.
Yooze: Plural of "you". Also correct is "yooze guys".
"Shakespeare, Kick in the Rear": Something you're supposed to say when two people say the same thing simultaneously. Or “Shakespeare, you owe me a beer.” and pinch the person.
Shem : A jerk, or a stupid person. Short for the Italian word pronounced Shemanooda
Skeeve : To totally dislike something, to be disgusted. "I skeeve that" or "I'm skeeved by him". A gross person can also be called a "skeeve" or a "skevoose".
Itchy Balls: Prickly seed pods from the London Plane tree.
Fuggedaboudit: Never mind
Jinx on a coke.: Same as Shakespeare Kick in the Rear.
Shlub: A slob or clumsy oaf. From Polish, meaning "blockhead".

Fab: Great, fantastic, fabulous.
Far Out - Excellent, cool.
Fink A tattle tale. Example: You're such a fink. Why do you always tell mom everything I do?
Flip Flops or Thongs (that went on your feet) THEY’RE BACK
Flower Child: A Hippie
Fox: An outstanding looking girl or woman.
Freak Out: Temporary loss of control due to an unpleasant event.
Funky Neat, Cool; also gone bad. Example: I think that milk is funky.
Fuzz: The Police
Get Bent (some kind of insult)
Groovy: Nice,"Cool" or Neat.
Hip: Very good, cool.
Hunk- What a girl would call a good looking guy
Jinx, You Owe Me A Coke!! When two people said the same thing at the same time, one would slug the other on the shoulder,,,
Loaded: Intoxicated
Moon: To drop your pants, bend over, and show your bare butt.
Outta Sight Fantastic, Awesome. Example: Hey Kathleen, that tie dyed top your wearing is "outta sight".
Pig Out: Over eat
Rap: Talk
Rat Fink: Same as fink
Right On: I agree; I concur
Shake it, Don't Break it! Said to a girl who had an awesome wiggle in her walk.
Spaz - Used as a put down, or to describe someone who was acting retarded.
Or Someone who is uncoordinated. A clutz.
Square - Someone who was not "Cool". Also an L7.
Stoned - Intoxicated
Stood Up - When a guy (or girl) didn't show up for a date
